Fifty-eight percent of U.S. men say they are primarily responsible for providing meals for their family and most help with Thanksgiving, a survey indicates.
The Butterball survey found 1-in-4 men say their household responsibilities are shifting, and that they are helping out more in the kitchen now than they were two to three years ago.
Forty-two percent of men say they take on the responsibility of either preparing or cooking the main dish for Thanksgiving meal. Eighty-four percent of men said they are involved in preparations for the Thanksgiving meal in some way, whether it's making a side dish, helping to bake pies or roasting the turkey.
When it comes to food preparation, a majority of adults say they would turn to a man for advice on grilling or smoking, but fewer would seek their help for cooking advice or meal preparation.
From thawing to carving, Thanksgiving meal questions can be endless and more than half of adults say they turn to experts, cookbooks or cooking magazines for help, while 49 percent rely on online searches and videos.

The survey, conducted by Ipsos, surveyed 1,000 U.S. adults on behalf of Butterball via phone in May. The survey has a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points.
